  • plus-circle
    Highly adjustable
  • plus-circle
    Removable sun/sleeping hood

What We Don't Like

  • No facing out option
  • Pricey, given that its only for babies/toddlers from 20lbs and up

The Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler carrier is a great option for those that are seeking a carrier for their toddler because:

  • They have grown out of their baby carrier
  • You are just starting to use a carrier
  • You have a new baby on the way who will inherit the baby carrier but you still want to carry your toddler

And there could be other reasons too, of course.

What's great about this carrier is that its toddler specific - which means that no compromises were needed when designing it, in order to have to accommodate smaller babies.

This has allowed Lillebaby to create a carrier that is made to carry heavier babies/toddlers with great weight distribution, padding and lumbar support.

You have the option to carry your toddler on the front, back or hip and the carrier promotes a hip healthy position.

All of that plus a removable sleeping hood, 2 convenient pockets and lots of adjustability (for a good fit and to fit a wide range of wearers), makes this one of the best toddler carriers out there.

Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler REVIEW

Líllébaby 3 in 1 CarryOn Toddler Carrier - Airflow, Charcoal Berry

The Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler is a toddler-specific carrier, great for anyone who wants to carry their children for to an older age than a baby carrier will typically allow.

The Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler has 3 different carry positions:

  1. Front facing-in
  2. Back carry
  3. Hip carry

There is no facing-out option. But that's typical of toddler carriers, since its not recommended to carry a heavier child facing out - most don't recommend facing out past 25lbs.

The carrier is designed for babies/toddlers from 20lbs to 60lbs.  In reality you won't be carrying them to 60lbs, but it does make it easier for other weight ranges, when its rated this high (see more about this in the "who is this product for" section).

The carrier is also very adjustable, so it can accommodate a wide range of wearers - and can typically be used by mom and dad - and other caregivers.

This carrier has been designed to carry heavier kids - making it more comfortable for that weight range.

Features like:

  • heavily padded straps
  • lumbar support
  • highly adjustable straps (to help you get that perfect fit)
  • even weight distribution

All contribute to the comfort factor of this carrier.

Easy and Convenient

The carrier is pretty standard when it comes to getting on and off. I wouldn't say its especially easy, nor especially difficult.

Some people have issues with connecting the shoulder straps at the back, but apart from that it's relatively straight forward.

The Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler comes with a removable sun/sleeping hood and 2 pockets - which is a really nice touch.

Ergonomic and Hip Healthy

Maybe not the most glamorous part of the carrier - but probably the most important - is the hip position of your baby or toddler in their carrier. The Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler does a good job of promoting a hip healthy position.

Who is this product for?

Broadly speaking the Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler is for those:

  • With babies that have grown out of their baby carrier
  • Who have just starting to use a carrier and their baby is already 20lbs
  • Who have a new baby on the way who will inherit your current carrier but you still want to carry your toddler separately

The carrier is designed for babies/toddlers from 20lbs to 60lbs but in reality 60lbs is going to be quite heavy to carry - but since most kids won't reach that kind of weight until they're 7 or older, you're not likely to be carrying them then anyway. What it does do, is allow you to more easily carry 3-5 year olds.

Carriers like the Lillebaby Complete are rated to 45lbs maximum, which on the face of it means you could carry to 5 years with it, for a lot of kids. But realistically it's not going to be comfortable past roughly 3 years.

So, if you're thinking of carrying your kid past 3, then something like the CarryOn is a great investment.

How to Use It

The Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler can be used in 3 different carrying positions:

  1. Front Facing-In
  2. Back
  3. Hip

Check out the following video for a visual look at the carrier in the 3 different carry positions.

Front Facing-In

The Lillebaby CarryOn Toddler carrier is a great option if you're in need of a carrier to carry an older/heavier child.

Due to safety reasons there is no facing out option, but otherwise it's a very versatile carrier that:

  • Can accommodate toddlers from 20lbs (max limit 60lbs)
  • Fits a wide range of wearers
  • Has 3 different carry positions (front facing-in, back and hip)

The CarryOn comes in an All-Seasons version which is great for both summer and winter, and a Mesh version which is better suited to summer.

Given that it can't accommodate babies under 20lbs, it's a relatively pricey carrier - but if you're in need of a carrier that can handle heavier loads, this is one of the best around, IMO.
