There are all sorts of baby carriers available these days, and all sorts of brands that produce them. This is my best baby carrier brands list.
The list will break down the best brands (in the opinion of the author) for the different types of baby carrier.
Best Brands for Baby Wraps
The following brands are known for producing some of the best wraps around today.
The Moby Wrap is synonymous with baby wraps.
Moby also make mei tai style carriers and ring slings, but they are best known for their wraps.
The brand started in 2007 and was conceived and developed by Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic, whilst on a shoestring budget around the world trip with their 2 kids.
Boba also makes carriers, but they are best known for their wraps.
There are many brands that produce good wraps, these are just a couple that make some of the best.
Baby K’Tan do the wrap thing differently to most brands producing wraps. Their wraps come somewhat “pre-wrapped” solving one of the biggest downsides to wraps – ease-of use.
There’s still some learning to do, but some of it is done for you.
Best Brands for Ring Slings
Ring slings are less common than wraps but there are still a few brands that have them in their line, including:
Maya Wrap specialize in ring slings and have two different types – lightly padded and ComfortFit.
Both types come in a variety of colors and styles.
LÍLLÉbaby makes a variety of carriers, including wraps and structured carriers, but they also have some great ring slings.
Best Brands for Pouch Slings
Even less common are pouch slings – but some parents like them for their ease of putting on, compared to something like ring slings.
Hotslings specialize in pouch carriers, so they have many different colors, styles and sizes, if pouch carriers are your thing.
Best Brands for Mei Tai Carriers
Mei Tai carriers have been around a long time. Modern versions of these are still quite a popular way to carry your baby. Many brands produce Mei Tai carriers but some of the best Mei Tai carriers are from:
Infantino are well known for their affordable baby carriers – and their Mei Tai carriers are certainly affordable, especially compared to a lot of baby carrier options out there.
Although most known for their wraps, Moby also make Mei Tai carriers.
Best Brands for (Structured) Carriers
A lot of the brands above also have structured carriers. These are the most common carriers around today, I would say largely because they are considered the easiest to use, the safest to use and can be the most versatile. They are typically more expensive though, of course.
Ergo Baby have a few different options for their structured carriers and are considered one of the leading carrier manufacturers.
Their line-up includes:
- Ergobaby 360
- Ergobaby OMNI 360
- Ergobaby 360 Cool Air Mesh
- Ergobaby OMNI 360 Cool Air Mesh
BabyBjorn also produces a number of different models, varying in price and use, their models include:
- BabyBjorn Baby Carrier One
- BabyBjorn Baby Carrier We
- BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Miracle
- BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Original
Baby Tula have a variety of carriers for different sized babies:
- Baby Tula Free-to-Grow (7-45lbs) – no infant insert required
- Baby Tula Standard (15-45lbs)
- Baby Tula Toddler (25-60lbs)
LÍLLÉbaby were also included under ring slings, but the structured carriers they make are too good to be left out of this section. LÍLLÉbaby’s line-up includes:
- LÍLLÉbaby Complete
- LÍLLÉbaby Carry On
- LÍLLÉbaby Essentials
And different varieties of the above like “Airflow” “All Seasons” “Original” and lots of different styles and colors.
There are some of the major brands for some of the different types of baby carriers on the market. Hopefully this has helped you to find a brand that might suit your needs.
